1948 PEDI first flight mail: Agudat Israel airmail stationary comm. cv ex NYC to US consul general HAIFA ("Palestine") franked 50c double a/m rate for weight, pmk'd MAY 21 1948 (1st day of PEDI service) using Type II cancel, issued serial number 745 & US "First Flight" stamp on front; this 1st flight arrived in Haifa 2 June where CSA Airlines cachet added on back (in violet - scarce); slit open at top, 2 vertical folds; Muentz certified.
