China, 1897 Small Surcharge on Dowager 1st printing ½c. on 3ca. orange-yellow, two vertical pairs, both variety imperforate between, originally forming a block of four, surcharges misplaced downwards, lower right stamp also shows broken character "Yin" in surcharge, typical centring to foot, fine unused with part to large part original gum, left pair has small thin in margin at top and right pair has short perf. and tone spot at foot.
