Folded letter with "Philada, July 2d 1712" dateline from merchant Robert Lidderdale to John McWilliam, endorsed "pr mary hoop gally Capt John Annis Comdn" at lower left, manuscript "Q.D.G." for Que Dieu Garde (let God protect the ship and master), London "AV / 25" Bishop mark and "5" pence rating crossed out and updated to "In All 9" pence due rating, Very Fine and scarce early transatlantic mail from Philadelphia.
Estimate; $1,000 - 1,500.

This commercial letter was carried by Galley Captain John Annis of ship "Mary Hoop" and discusses the sending of cargo to London, Glasgow and Guernsey containing barrels of Silvestri Corn and Flour.
