Edged Weapons: Luftwaffe 2nd model dagger maker E.P & S Solingen with dancing lady legs. Rare double etched blade in perfect condition. Aluminium cross guard and pommel fitted with aluminium coloured portepee tied in the correct manner. Unmarked grip is pumpkin orange with springy wire wrap. Scabbard shows some signs of age, but still in excellent condition. Rare. Genuine.

Bayonet: WWII era unidentified knife/bayonet marked at base of blade 'WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER A. G. OBERNDORF a. N.'. No scabbard. Smooth timber grips on handle. Slot for bayonet at base of handle. However, blade is more like a light weight machette blade, with light surface rust & remnant grease. Fair-Good. Unusual & worthy of further research.

For outstanding effort from the Commanding General & Commander in Chief of Air District Norway. 1st pattern Luftwaffe Eagle over title: 'Fur Besondere Leistung/Der Kommandierende General/Und Befehlshaber Im Luftgau Norwegen' with symbol below of figure seated upon leaping stag within circle. Plaque in bronzed zinc? 150mm x 110mm. Reverse numbered '7337'. Corrosion of edges & slight warp. Overall GC. Vendor states recovered from basement of a house in Norway about 15 yrs ago.

Australia:: Rare WWII Australian Unit History, 2/24 Inf Bn. First published 1963 by Jacaranda Press Ltd, reprinted 1986. Special Facsimile Ed 2002, hard cover. 25 copies only, 360pgs & annexes. The 2/24th Infantry Battalion, 9th Division, a Victorian unit, raised at Wangaratta in 1940. Served at Tobruk (1941), Tel el Eisa (1942), New Guinea (1943), Tarakan (1945). Suffered more casualties than other 2nd AIF Battalion. 360 killed, 900 wounded. As new.

The nickel plated blade also is in an excellent condition. Attached in the correct tie is the aluminium portepee. Purchased from I S Wright in 1997. Genuine.
