Rare: Signature and Stamp of the Rebbe of Alexander Rabbi Bezalel Yair Danziger
Beit Yitzchak. The laws of Treifot. Czernowitz, 1860. On the title page of the book, the stamp of the Rebbe of Alexander. On leaf [1] a pencil signature: "Bezalel Yair the son of …". The stamp appears on additional leaves of the book.

Rareness: there are almost no books with his stamp! Has never been seen in auctions! All the more so in such good condition like the book before us – extremely rare!

Rabbi Bezalel Yair of Alexander (1865-1935) was the son of the founder of the Alexander Hassidic dynasty Rabbi Yechiel Danziger the son of Rabbi Sheraga Feibel of Grójec. After his father's death, his father's Hassidim followed him; yet he refused to accept them, accepting the authority of his brother, author of 'Yismach Yisrael', instead.

After the death of the 'Yismach Yisrael' he still refused to accept the Hassidim, accepting the authority of his second brother, the 'Tiferet Shmuel'. With the outbreak of World War I, he agreed to accept Hassidim in Lodz. After the Holocaust, he was replaced by his son-in-law Rabbi Yehuda Moshe as the continuer of the Alexander Hassidic dynasty.

יקר המציאות: בית יצחק – חתימת וחותמת הרה"ק מאלכסנדר רבי בצלאל יאיר דאנציגער זצוק"ל
בית יצחק. הלכות טריפות. טשרנוביץ, תר"כ 1860. בשער הספר מופיעה פעמיים חותמתו של הרה"ק מאלכסנדר. בדף [א] חתימה בעפרון: "בצלאל יאיר בהה"ק... זי"ע...". החותמת מופיעה במקומות נוספים בספר.

נדירות: כמעט ואין בנמצא ספרים עם חתימתו! לא נראה מעולם במכירות פומביות! כל שכן במצב יפה כמו שלפנינו – נדיר באופן יוצא דופן.

הרה"ק רבי בצלאל יאיר מאלכסנדר (תרכ"ה-תרצ"ה) בנו של מייסד שושלת אלכסנדר רבי יחיאל דנציגר בהרה"ק רבי שרגא פייבל מגריצא. היה חביב ונערץ על אביו הגדול. לאחר הסתלקות אביו דבקו בו החסידים אך הוא סירב לקבלם וקיבל את מרות אחיו הרה"ק בעל 'ישמח ישראל'.

גם לאחר פטירת ה'ישמח ישראל' הוא סירב לקבל חסידים ודבק באחיו בעל 'תפארת שמואל', כשפרצה מלחמת העולם הראשונה הסכים לקבל חסידים בלודז'. את מקומו לאחר השואה מילא חתנו רבי יהודה משה כממשיך שושלת אלכסנדר.
