1857: 8s green with even margins all round, together with 1864 2 sk blue, perf 13x12 1/2 and 4 sk vermillion, perf 13x12 1/2, as 14 sk franking, each tied by three ring numeral canceller "1" of Copenhagen to very fresh business letter to London. The late usage of the 8s green makes for a delightful mixed franking of great appeal with the contrasting red of the London receiving mark adding further colour. Tiniest browning in one perf only....

1857: 16 s greyish-violet, horizontal strip of four with large to clear margins on the left, on small fragment, tied by four three ring numeral cancellers "1" of Copenhagen. A faint senders' mark reveals the "LEGATION OF THE UNITED STATES COPENHAGEN" as the sender. Strips of four are very scarce, Certificate Moeller (2001) 'flawless', FACIT (for block of four) = Skr. 22'000.

The stamp from position 44 shows the plateflaw 'KJOBFNHAGEN' and is clearly visible. The block is in excellent condition, a fold in the bottom perforation is only mentioned out of courtesy.
