GREECE: Unpaid cover from "ΣΜΥΡΝΑ (ΤΟΥΡΚΙΑ)*1.ΔΕΚΕ.61" to Calamata, fr. on arrival with 5x2l olive-brown and 40l mauve on blue (30l ship fee and 20l Greek inland rate), tied by "31" Calamata lozenge cds but without type II postmark. On reverse "ΠΕΙΡΑΙΕΥΣ*3.ΔΕΚ.1861" pre-adhesive transit postmark along with "ΑΘΗΝΑΙ*3.ΔΕΚΕ.61". Very fine and very rare. (Hellas 2b+6a).

GREECE: Letter from the Greek P.O. Thessaloniki in Turkey Dec. 12 1861 to Argos, as always without arrival cancel, franked with a pair of 5l., strip of 3 of 10l. and a single 40l. to make up 80 lepta rate (cover with internal repair). A unique postal history item with amazing combination of Paris print values, unique. Opinion by Holcombe. (Hellas 3b+4b+6b).

GREECE: 20l. deep ultramarine (quadrille background) canc. "13" (Pyrgos). Good-large margins all around but ink stained. Still fine and very rare. (Hellas 8Ic).

GREECE: 20l. deep ultramarine without control number, bearing Pyrgos cds. Bare - whitish impression. Solid background, possible traces of quadrillage. Clear to good margins all around, just touched at bottom right corner. A shallow thin spot, and upper right corner creased in margin only, still a fine example of this very important rarity. (Hellas 8IIb).

GREECE: 5l greyish green (early hard method printings), double control number (Kound. 10.1) in a distance 1.2mm vertically, tied by "1" (Athens cds). Right margin closing, just touches at top. Still fine for this one. Very limitided in quantities printings, thus all errors are scarce to very rare. (Hellas 11IaNoI).
