1878: ½ d. brown, postal stationery card, with clothing advertisement to back, used from London to Bradford, dated 2 February 1887, cancelled by the 'Dot Matrix' Hoster Trial Machine cancellation in black. Some imperfections to the corners and a small tear on right side, otherwise fine (H&B CP6). This postmark was in use between 2 February and 21 March 1887. This being the earliest known usage. 1885/91: Group of 10 covers all cancelled by the London Hoster Machine cancel, including Types VI, VII and VIII (Dubus 35-38). Noted a large size mail envelope (144 x 187mm.) with Christmas Card enclosed sent 24 December 1885 and one cover to Norway. 1881 (Dec 13): 1 d. lilac, wmk. Crown, perf. 14, use on cover, from London to Burton, dated 23 October 1886, tied by the rare London Ethridge Experimental Machine cancel in black. To the reverse an arrival cds Burton Westmoreland in black (Oct 24). There is an embossed 'Waterlow Bros & Layton' to flap. Opening tears top front which are well clear of the adhesive. A fine cover and excellent strike of this rare cancel.

1889: ½ d. brown, newspaper wrapper, used example, London to Brightholme, dated 29 August 1893, cancelled by the rare London International Trial Machine cancel in black. To the reverse an offset strike of the same and an arrival in red (AU 29). A tidy intact wrapper (H&B WP16). A fine strike of this rare cancel, only in use for 23 day during 23 August and 14 September 1893.

1897: Two Proof impressions of the Imperial Victoria Jubilee Flag "1837 / VICTORIA / 1897" in violet ink on GPO un-watermarked file paper. Taken during the Post Office evaluation of the machine provided by the 'Imperial Mail Marking Machine Company of Canada'. No mail was processed during the evaluation and only trial proofs and two cancelled by favour uncirculated examples on card are known. Rare; one of two known proof examples.

1883: 1 d. pink, postal stationery envelope, used, London to Putney, dated 24 November 1897, cancelled by the Bickerdike ䷀ V♚R ䷀ Trial Machine cancel in black, with serifs on VR. To the reverse a partial Putney cds in black. Some toning to envelope and two tiny pin holes to left side well clear of stamp and postmark. A very fine strike of this rare cancellation.
