1854/1900: Covers/entires (5) with 1854 entire from Huddersfield to Syra, Greece endorsed "via Belgium" with "3½" groschen credit mark in black, thence via Triest; 1853 cover with printed "Shipley Water-Works and Police / Parliamentary Letter" at top franked by 1841 2 d. blue single and strip of three tied by "447" obliterators and used to Leeds, 1860 registered cover from London to Vienna franked 1855/57 4 d. rose-carmine single and pair;...

1855/1874, Insufficiently Prepaid Mail to Foreign Countries: collection of 20 covers, mostly nicely presented on album pages explaining taxes and instructional handstamps, including 1871, 3d. and 1d. mixed franking with Italian Postage Due  60c. (2) , 1855, 4d. Wmk. Small Garter, single franking to Belgium, 1855, 1d. red-brown strip of four to Belgium, 1866, 2d. plate 9 on Printed Matter to Sweden, condition mostly fine and attractive.

1873/74: 6 d. grey, plate 15, in combination with 1 s. green, plate 12, 'HUTH' perfins on both, used on cover, from London to Lima, Peru, dated 15 November 1876, tied by duplex cancel in black, endorsed "Via Southampton", on reverse horizontal pair Peru 1874/79 Postage Due 5 c. vermilion cancelled by 'LIMA PRINCIPAL' circular datestamp 18 December 1876, very scarce and interesting. Additionally comes with an 1871 cover front franked with GB 1...

1899/1955 (ca.): Accumulation of just under 500 picture postcards including early photographic cards "Manchester - Royal Exchange", "Chester - St. Johns Ruins", "Isle of Man - Glen Helen Pleaseure Grounds", "Owens College - Manchester", "Llandudno",  "Glasgow University", "Devonshire Baths, Eastbourne", "Beechy Head", "Oban Bay" or "Drum Major, The Buffs" (1899/1900). Interesting and mainly in good condition.

Stamp Boxes 1900/1941: Fine group of 25 small stamp boxes, mainly Victorian of which ten in Sterling Silver, including small envelope stamp cases, small double sided envelope boxes, some with engraved floral designs or curlic scrolls, further a small envelope case with laureated head of King Edward VII as well as an antique Chinese brass box with floral enamelled design. Viewing recommended.

1840: Mulready 2 d. envelope, stereo a197, a used example from London to Lancaster, cancelled contrary to regulations to right of Britannia by fine strike of red Maltese Cross. Reverse with London despatch cds (June 6, 1840) in black. Some minor corner bends and age spot but an attractive usage Gi = £ 2'500.

1840: 2 d. blue, Plate 1, lettered ED, a used example with just clear margin at lower right and large margins on three sides, on 1840 local double rate "May Date" cover to Portman Square, London, tied by Maltese Cross in red. "T. P. / High Holborn EC" handstamp in red at left and reverse showing framed arrival (May 16, 1840) clearly struck in red. Ironed out vertical file fold through the adhesive and sensible small repairs to the part letter...

1840: 2 d. blue, Plate 2, lettered RG-RH, a used horizontal pair with large margins all round and showing portions of adjoining stamps at top and at left, used on quadruple weight 1842 cover to Blandford, tied by DORCHESTER double arc datestamps (June 23, 1842) in black. The fine pair of fresh colour with RH showing the constant variety with coloured "√" in NW corner unobscured by the rare cancellation, the letter mentioning enclosures....

1841: 2 d. blue on blued paper, pl. 3, lettered HE, a used example with ample margin at left and huge on three sides showing portions of adjoining stamps at top and at right, neatly tied to 1844 entire letter from London to Edinburgh by fine strike of London "No. 10" in Maltese Cross in black. Reverse with London despatch and Edinburgh arrival (March 20) in red. File folds at left away from the fine adhesive, a very scarce entire Gi E1vj = £...

1841: 1 d. red-brown on blued paper, pl. 21, lettered DJ, used example with good to large margins all round, tied to 1842 entire letter to London by superb strike of Wessex type double arc DORCHESTER datestamp in black (April 1). Reverse with London arrival cds in red (April 2). Listed in Rockoff & Jackson on page 528. Slightest closed tear in entire at top mentioned for full accuracy, a fine and rare entire Gi B1va = £ 3`000.

1855 (July 20): 2 d. blue, Plate 5, wmk. Crown, perf. 14, lettered RF-RG, an unused rejoined horizontal pair of vibrant colour, RG with thin spot below NW corner square and the reverse has artfully placed hinge reinforcement between. Otherwise fresh and fine appearance, with part og. A scarce stamp unused, ex 'Besançon'. Cert. BPA (2019) which doesn't mention the rejoining. Gi = £ 5'600 as two singles.

1861: 1 d. rose-red, Die II, Alphabet IV, pl. 51, perf. 14, lettered FD-FE / GD-GE, letters engraved on the plate by hand instead of punched, an unused block of four, of good colour, horizontal gum cracks on large part or unmounted og. Rarer than plate 50, a scarce and attractive multiple Gi C12(3) = £ 1'500.
