1870: Bordeaux 10 c. bistre foncé, Report I, a used horizontal pair roughly separated horizontally but both stamps with large margins all round, used on 1871 entired letter from Grenoble to Tarare tied by 1716 gros chiffres in black, Grenoble despatch cds at left (March 20). Signed Calves.

France & Colonies Lot 1849/40c.: Primarily First Issues Collection with outstanding range of covers/cards (60) and France classic early stamps/covers of the Colonies, with 1849 Cérès 10 c. bistre brown single franking covers (4), 1849 Cérès 15 c. green single franking covers (2. one signed Calves), 20 c. black sheet marginal pair used, 20 c. black single frankings (4), 25 c. blue single frankings (3), 40 c. orange pair on cover to London...

Benin 1892: First Issue handstamped BENIN in black, 5 c. green on greenish, 10 c. black on lilac and 15 c. blue in combination with 1892 "01" in red on 5 c. green on greenish all used on 1892 cover to Bayonne tied by "ETABLISSEMENTS DU BENIN / LIGNE M No. 1" circular datestamps (Dec 5) in red. Reverse with Bayonne arrival cds (Jan 24, 1893) in black. File fold well away from the scarce adhesives, a fine cover. Signed Calves.

Cochinchine 1888: Overprinted 15/15 in black on 30 c. brown, complete example used with Colonies 1881 Dubois 5 c. green on greenish horizontal pair on 1888 cover to Salonique, Turkey all tied by "GOCONG / COCHINCHINE" datestamps (Nov 11) in black. Reverse with Saigon transit cds (Nov 12) and Salonique French P.O. arrival (Dec 17) in black. Scarce and attractive cover.

Congo Français 1891: Surcharged 5 c. in black on 1 c. black on azure in a sheet marginal vertical pair with 5 c. on 25 c. black on rose (I) in a vertical strip of four and a marginal pair of 10 c. on 25 c. black on rose (II) with variety "Surcharge Inverted", all on registered 1892 local cover tied by "LIBREVILLE / CONGO FRANÇAIS" circular datestamps (April 26) in black. Edge wear to envelope and stain away from the adhesives and moronic lot...

French Congo 1892: "Congo Français / Timbre Poste / 5 c." surcharge in red on Postage Due 5 c. black, imperforate, a marginal example from top of sheet used on toned 1892 cover to Bordeaux tied in black with octagonal "LOANGO A MARSEILLE / L.M. No. 1" datestamp at left (Nov 24). Reverse with Bordeaux arrival cds (Dec 19). Rare issue on letter. Signed J.F. Brun. Cert. Behr (2015).

Diégo-Suarez 1890: '15' handstamped in violet on Colonies Dubois 10 c. black on lilac, a used horizontal strip of five on small piece, tied by three strikes of octagonal "CORR. D'ARMÉES / DIEGO-SUAREZ" datestamps (Aug 6, 1890) struck in black. Choice and very fine, a rare multiple. Signed Calves. Cert. Behr (2015) Yvert = € 450+.

Grande-Comore 1897: The first issue set of thirteen values, fine large part og. and the first issue set of thirteen used on cover with additional 19'7 35 c. black on yellow all tied by "GRANDE COMORE" cds's in black and mailed to Paris with arrivals on reverse Yvert = € 485.

Indochine 1889: "5 / R-D" in red on 35 c. blackish violet on yellow, used examples on two 1892 5 c. green postal stationery envelopes each additionally franked by 1881 Colonies 5 c. green on greenish, one cancelled at MYTHO (June 11), the other at TAYNINH (June 18) in black; together with 1889 "5 / R D" in black on 35 c. blackish violet on yellow in a block of ten, perf. faults, used on 1889 registered cover to Stuttgart.

Madagascar 1891: 5 c. black on buff in a horizontal strip of three, corner marginal 10 c. black on green and corner marginal 25 c. brown on chamois, all used on registered 1893 cover to Washington DC cancelled by "TAMATAVE / MADAGASCAR" cds's (April 320) in black. Octagonal "La Reunion a Marseille / L.V. No. 2" datestamp on reverse with transit and arrival (June 1) cds. Minor envelope imperfections but a scarce issue on letter.

Maroc, Cherifian Posts 1912/13: Covers (3) with 1913 registered mixed franking opened for display cover to France with first 1912 issue 5 c. green (2), 10 c. orange (2) andd 1913 1 c. grey and 2 c. brown-lilac (2) used with French Office 5 c. on 5 c. green and 10 c. on 10 c. red on reverse tied at Tangier (Feb 15) to Levallois; 1913 second issue set of six used on philatelic cover tied by octagonal negative seal handstamps in black and 1913...

Martinique 1886: "5" on 20 c. brick-red on green, horizontal strips of three and of seven all used on 1886 registered cover to Nice, neatly tied by "FORT DE FRANCE / MARTINIQUE" circular datestamps (July 23) in black with framed red "R" alongside. Octagonal "COL. FR. / LIG. B. PAQ. FR. No.2 " at base and Nice arrival cds /Aug 11) on reverse of an attractive cover. Signed Calves.
