1841: 1 d. red-brown on blued paper, lettered KH, a used example with large margins all round but with closed contemporary tear at right, tied to 1842 entire letter written from Dartington Parsonage near Totness to Ashburton, by Wessex double arc TOTNESS circular datestamp in black. Reverse with Ashburton double arc arrival cds in black (Oct 24). The cover accompanied by matching May 1843 entire letter to Ashburton prepaid 1 d. and struck with TOTNESS cds in black. The entire listed in Rockoff & Jackson on page 550. A rare and delightful pairing Gi B1va = £ 3'000.
