The 146th auction offers many highlights, including the following main areas:

Stamps:

German states: selected supply with canceled lots, cover applications, rare types, including - among others - Bavaria Mi.-Nr. 1IIa canceled in very fine condition, Württemberg 70 Kreuzer, etc.

German empire: extensive supply with colours, types, covers, rarities with, for example, water marks, variations of Nothilfe-Wappen issues, varieties, plate flaws, etc. Chicago trip mnh, 801B and 802B canceled, charming supply of booklets and se-tenants, and more.

German colonies/post offices abroad: valuable supply with forerunner issues, canceled lots, cover lots.

Occupation World War I/Plebiscites/Danzig/Memel/Saar: extensive supply, especially Danzig with sought-after top values like “kleiner Innendienst”, canceled, Mi.-Nr. 101X canceled, rare proofs, etc. Memel with - among others - canceled “green overprinting”; furthermore, types, plate flaws, etc.

World War II/field post: extensive supply with sought-after issues, e.g. Alexanderstadt with major rarities, Sudetenland with values that were only issued in small quantities, etc. The highlight in this section is the broken-up special collection “Channel Islands Guernsey and Jersey“ belonging to the well-known expert and expertizer Dr. Rommerskirchen. Collectors specialised in these areas will surely find something they want in the approx. 300 lots of this extensive supply.

German local issues: select supply with sought-after standard values, commercial letters, private issues, etc.; furthermore, types, varieties and specialities.

West zones/Bund/Berlin: among others, sought-after standard issues, initial issues in mnh and canceled condition, commercial letters from the early years, plate flaws and varieties as well as numerous collections in the collection section!

SBZ/DDR: comprehensive supply with sought-after top values, good block types, etc.; furthermore, with printer marks, plate flaws and specialities, including many unusual pieces.

Europe: Interesting supply, especially from France, Liechtenstein, Austria and Switzerland

A very diverse supply of collections encompassing more than 1,800 lots, primarily from private collectors, including - among others - complete estate collections, our traditional section “collection dissolution” contains five large estate collections; also specialised country collections, grab-bag item boxes and covers with material from all over the world!

Coins: extensive supply with 2,500 lots and a total auction value of ca. € 750,000, featuring the following highlights:

“Colonia” collection: around 100 denars from the Roman Republic, mostly in better condition. Furthermore, the actual heart of this collection: Cologne archdiocese and the city of Cologne. The outstanding pieces here include - among others - a half thaler with the title Rudolf II. (Noss 261, price 1,000) and a ducat with the title Franz I., 1750, Noss635c, in well-preserved condition (Price 1,000). Another interesting piece is a thaler that was minted for sede vacante in 1761 (Noss 772, Price 1,000).

Antiquity: Special mention should be made here regarding two extremely rare EL half stater from Ionia, priced at € 12,000 each. In addition to various rare and well-preserved tetra drachmas from - among other places - Attica, numerous solidi of different Byzantine regents are available.

German empire/Weimar: The focus here should especially be on the very rare pieces on hand, such as a 5-mark Waldeck Pyrmont (J. 171, vz from PP, Price 3,200), a rare 5-Reichsmark piece Eichbaum 1933 J (vz-st., Price 3,600), as well as two Goethe 5-Reichsmark pieces with the embossed letters “A” and “E” (Prices 1,200 and 1,500).

Russia: Large supply of silver, gold, platinum and palladiuim mintings. Rare and sought-after series, e.g. the Brown Bear series from 1993, the 1995 Lynx series and the 1996 Tiger series are available here in gold and in all denominations (Price €2,500; 1,800; and 2,500). In addition to the highlights, nearly all 25 (5 oz.) ruble coins in silver are also on hand.

Medallions: Medallion enthusiasts will also be very pleased with the supply available this time. Besides numerous Belgian and French mintings in bronze and silver, there are also some gold medallions on offer. Of particular interest are - among others - two gold medallions by the Austrian painter, architect and graphic artist Ernst Fuchs, which were minted in commemoration of Konrad Adenauer (€ 800 each).

Collections/Estates: Comprehensive and diverse supply of collections, estates and lots in all sizes. Including - among others - a very large estate coin collection consisting of 19 boxes of coins from all over the world (€ 10,000) and an extensive and very interesting change collection with over 1500 mintings from the German Empire, Weimar and the Third Reich (Price € 5,000).
