We are honoured to feature stamps from several major collections of outstanding quality, including Hilton Dicken's estate, Peter Robertson's collection of NZ, NZ Postage Dues ex Jim Shaw, and collections and singles ex John Lovis.

1902 ½d Cowan, p11 wmkd paper on local 28 JAN 1914 Wellington consignee's letter only cover bearing ½d KE VII, COLLECT / AFFIX STAMP / BEFORE/ DELIVERY h/s in black, ½ inserted in blue pencil & 28 JAN 1914 Wellington cancel tieing postage due to cover. From 1908 to 1915 a ½d fee applied for such mail & was a single deficiency rate for this service. Vendor states that very few consignee's letters are recorded.

1906 1d Cowan unsurfaced p11, irregular block of 3 on unstamped p/c ex Nelson to New Plymouth, double boxed LOOSE LETTER h/s in black, TO PAY / 3d / DOUBLE DEFICIENCY POSTAGE h/s in black, canc 7 May 1907 New Plymouth; charged a loose letter fee for a rural (or railway post office) collection, but subject to the 1d card rate, hence 3 x 1d dues affixed.

1906 1d & 2d p14 on 23 April 1909 Greytown cover bearing 1d Universal, addressed to Tenerife, with TOO LATE FOR SHIP purple r/s, a taxe marking subsequently obliterated as cover was readdressed to sender, 78 in blue pencil, a poorly struck but pencil enhanced T / 30 / CENTIMES taxe mark, black numeral 3 & P Dues canc 3 August 1909 Greytown. Rear bears various transit cancels incl scarce Wellington AP 23 1909 d/s in blue.

1906 1d p14 x 2 (1 also removed) on leather p/c (featuring Teddy & his little bear behind) ex 28 April Minneapolis, USA, to Christchurch, NZ, bearing American 2c stamp, 30 / T taxe mark, TO PAY / 3d / DOUBLE DEFICIENT POSTAGE h/s in black & 16 June 1908 Christchurch arrival cancel. Such p/cs were deemed liable to letter rates, hence 30 gold centimes = 1½d underpaid + 1½d fine charged.
