1866 Fiscal stamp 6a. purple surcharged large "POSTAGE" in green used along with 8p. on folded cover from Madras to Edinburgh "Via Marseilles P. French Steamer" (endorsed in m/s). Both stamps with boxed security handstamps "O.B.C" (Oriental Bank Calcutta) and tied by "MADRAS/DEC 6 (1866)"-"1" duplex, with small red London '7 Jan 67' transit cds and backstamped Edinburgh 'JA 8/67' arrival cds. The 6a. stamp with usual surface scratches, the 8p. with minor imperfections at top, and the cover with folds and light traces of ageing. Nevertheless, a scarce cover.
