British Post Office 1864/79: Great Britain 1 d. red, five examples with pair from pl. 72 and strip of three from pl. 91, used on 1866 entire letter to Malta carried by the "Nyanza" tied by "B01" obliterators in black with ALEXANDRIA cds (Aug 8) alongside sender's cachet below. Reverse with Malta arrrival cds (Aug 14). An attractive and unusual 'mixed plate' usage. Signed Todd AIEP.
