1860/72: Diadem 1 s. rose-carmine, perf. 13 used in combination with De La Rue 1 d. dull red and 6 d. bright mauve on 1872 cover to Edinburgh endorsed "per "Pera" via Galle & Brindisi" tied by "NSW" ovals with Sydney despatch cds (May 15). Reverse with oval seal of the Royal Arms and Edinburgh arrival (July 11) cds. The cover was carried from Galle by the "Tanjore" and the "Ceylon" from Alexandria.
