1879: 'First Quetzal' issue ¼ r. brown & green used (4) with framed pre-philatelic boxed "Franco" handstamp, numeral "1" of Guatemala City, "Correos de Guatemala" cds usage and fourth example with complete "star" cancel, all in black; 1 r. black & green (4) with floral cork handstamp in blue, numeral "6" of Quetzaltenango in blue, "Correos de Guatemala" cds usage and fourth example with complete "Star" cancel both in black.
And from the same issue 'First Quetzal' ¼ r., a cut down imperforate Die Proof with frame in black and central vignette applied in green, two imperforate Die Proofs on card in issued colour, small corner bend; and a horizontal pair of Plate Proofs on India paper imperforate in issued colour. And last a cut down imperforate proof of the 1 r. with frame in black and center in green as issued on card. A scarce group. Ex the Brian Moorhouse Estate.
