British Post Offices in French India 1843/1950c.: The collection beautifully written up on leaves (103 items incl. 39 covers/cards) beginning with Pondichery with 1844/54 entire letters (5) from Pondichery to Bordeaux or Marseille all showing fine strikes of the framed "PONDICHERY / Paid" handstamps in red, India 1854 ½ a. blue pair, 1 a. red, and 2 a. green (2) all used with "C/111" obliterators; 1856/64 ½ a. blue (5, incl. a pair) and 4 a. black used with "C/111", 1857 cover with ½ a. blue similarly cancelled and used to Karikal, India 1855/65 issues off cover cancelled "111" Pondichery duplex (20) and two covers with duplex tying ½ a. blue; later with 1920's sub-Office usages on covers/stationery, 1947 registered cover to Belgian Congo; Chandernagor with 1866 4 a. cancelled "B/86" and others incl. 1935 cover to Paris; Karikal with 1885 4 a. olive pair cancelled Karical cds's in violet, ½ a. stationery envelopes with Karikal squared circle and cds usages, branch Office usages etc. and 1902 card from Setif (Algeria) to Mahé.
