1889: Kangaroo 1 s. maroon, wmk. Crown over NSW, variety "Imperforate", an unused vertical pair with ample margins all round, slight splash of printer's ink at lower left of the lower stamp, part og. Not to be confused with the 1899 imperf. pair (Gi 312a) in purple-brown; in the maroon shade there are but three pairs in existence and a marginal single. A very rare pair Gi = £ 2'250.
