Papua 1960: 'POSTAL CHARGES 6d. IXIXIXIXIX' on 7½d blue with 'POSTAGE' blocked out, a regular stamp that is nicely used and accompanied by a Ceremuga certificate (2000). This stamp is rare, with only 800 issued (SG D1). Furthermore, there is a version with the surcharge double, where both impressions are equally strong and well-separated, very finely used (SG D1a). This error is exceedingly rare, with only three sheets of 36 printed, making it a valuable collector's item confirmed by a BPA photo-cert from 2015. The combined catalog value for both stamps is SG £2950.
