1850 (Jan 1): Plate 1, 1 d. brownish-red on soft yellowish paper, two examples, positions 15 and 24, with just touched to good margins, used on 31st January 1850 entire letter from Sydney to Merriwa tied by oval of bars obliterator in black. Slightest stain from gum at top left of position 15 otherwise of fine appearance, with reverse showing "SYDNEY / ♚ / NEW SOUTH WALES" datestamp (Feb 1) in black. Ben Palmer census #23. Scarce. Cert. RPSV (2024).
