1861 (May): 1 d. rose-red, no wmk., rough to intermediate perf. 14-16, a block of twelve (positions 31-34 / 41-44 / 51-54) used on 1866 cover to London endorsed "p. Mail", sensibly opened for display, cancelled by six strikes of the "A10" obliterator in black with SAINT VINCENT cds over-inked at left, "London / Paid" cds in red (April 12) and further London cds in black of the same day. Red crayon credit "11" pence at base. A remarkable and extremely rare franking bearing the largest recorded used multiple of the #1.
