1847 (September 14): Entire letter, franked with two single 1847 5 c. red brown, mostly good to very large margins all around, tied by neatly-struck circular grid cancels, postmarked Philadelphia / 10 Cts, to Gouda, "Near Rotterdam", manuscipt "120" (Dutch) cents due, endorsed to be carried via Cunard "Boston Steamer / Caledonia 16 Sept", arrived in Liverpool September 29, with same-day backstamp, struck on back with two-line "Engeland / over Rotterdam" in red, Gouda receiver (Oct 3) one adhesive with small wrinkles at base from placement on cover, a scarce doubled franking.
