Philippopolis, Austrian P.O. 1864: Arms 10 s. blue, perf. 9½, a horizontal pair used on 1866 entire letter to Constantinople endorsed "Par Poste Autrichienne", tied by fine strike of "FILIPOPOLI" circular datestamp (Oct 12) in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 868). Reverse with Austrian P.O. arrival cds (Oct 15). A fine and scarce entire: the population of Philippopolis appeared to prefer the Ottoman Post Office alternative at this date.
