British Protectorate (1815-1864) 1858 (Sept 12): Entire letter from Paxos to Santa Maura, rated "d1" in red crayon at top right, struck with hooded "PAXO" despatch datestamp (Sept 12) in blue. Reverse with hooded "STA. MAURA" arrival in blue (Sept 13). Superb and rare thus.
Note: The cancellations are normally found struck in blue, as a show of patriotism and allegiance to Greece.
