British Protectorate 1815-1864 1830c.: Cover endorsed at top "Da Sira" to Corfu, with transit of double circle "OFFICIO DELLA POST DI CEFALONIA" with Cephalus vignette, disinfected against Cholera at Cefalonia by toasting with reverse showing circular cachet "OFFICIO CENTRALE DI SANITA" (again with the dog Cephalus in centre) in black. Struck on arrival with "OFFICIO DELLA POST GENERALE / CORFU" large Coat of Arms cachet and rated "8" pence to pay in red. A rare cover - illustrated in Dr. K.F. Meyer "Disinfected ;Mail" on page 178.
