British Protectorate 1815-1864 1831 (April 1): Incoming entire letter from Ancona to Corfu struck on arrival by two strikes of scarce Small Coat of Arms "OFFICIO DELLA POSTA GENERALE / CORFU" cachet in black with rate "6" (pence) inserted in red manuscript. Reverse with hooded CORFU datestamp (April 20) in black. Scarce and fine cover.
Note: The Small Coat of Arms cachet was only in use between 1829 and 1833, concurrent with the Large Coat of Arms cachet (known between 1825 and 1841).
