Austrian Courier Service from Smirna 1795 (Nov 17 & Dec 17): Entire letter from Smirna to London endorsed "Vienna" at top left, sent on the overland route with manuscript Forwarding Agent's endorsements on reverse "Reçu le 23 Xre. Constantinople 1795 exp. le 24 d., p Hubsch & Simoni" and, below, "Vienne le 15 (Janvier) Smitmer"; with two strikes of Bishop Mark of arrival (Feb 2) in black and charged "1/-" shilling to pay. Opens well for display (full flap underneath), interesting Naval contents, transcript enclosed. A scarce double forwarded entire.
