British Post Office in Smirna 1887/1904: 80 pa. on GB 5 d. purple & blue, a single example on 1894 cover to Altona at double rate, tied by somewhat blurred "F87" obliterator with "BRITISH POST OFFICE / SMYRNA" cds alongside (Oct 27), with rare usage of "TOO LATE" handstamp in black at left; sold together with 1904 postcard with Edward VII ½ d. blue-green pair tied by smaller "BRITISH POST OFFICE / SMYRNA" cds (April 12) with equally rare usage of the "TOO LATE" marking in black. Very seldom seen.
