Mounted fabric from the "Douglas World Cruiser #2" aircraft, 2" by 2" square of fabric from the first plane to complete a round the world flight, frame is 16" by 21½", photo is 10" by 8", Very Fine.

The "Chicago" was the flag plane of the first round the world flight. In the company of three similar aircraft it departed from Seattle WA on Apr 6 1924 returning Sep 28 1924, after covering 26,345 miles in a total flying time of 363 hours and 7 minutes. The "Chicago" is in the National Air & Space Museum.
