18 Kreuzer orange-red and 9 Kreuzer ochre-brown in mixed franking with coat of arms issue 3 Kreuzer rose, with open Mühlrad-cancel "325" on registered mourning envelope of 2nd weight class with reverse black lacquer seals of the court secretariat of Ludwig II and adjacent red five-line cancellation "MÜNCHEN Chargé 13/3 (11)" to the mayor of Nice with transit and arrival cds. The 18 cross stamp was originally slightly touched at base, optically corrected here after attestation, otherwise all values with full to large margins and perfect. A scarce and also historically interesting letter, posted 2 weeks after the death of King Louis I in Nice, and undoubtedly directly related to this event. Certificate Brettl BPP (1996)
