WWI French detatchment in Palestine: circa. 1918 color ppc of Constantinpole with space for address only ex [JERUSALEM] to FRANCE stamped by illustrated "Commissariat Franaise en Palestine" violet cachet and also by very rare violet 2-line text "Le Haut Commissaire de la Rpublique Franaise en Palestine" - this undocumented. The illustrated cachet is known used at least from July 1918. Unfranked, as official mail. The text cachet may indicate that the ppc was sent by the High Commissioner personally - Franois Georges Picot (Dec. 1917 - 1919), the co-architect of the "Sykes-Picot" treaty.
