Military mail to Palestine: 28 OC 41 'Jewish Soldiers Welfare Committee' stationary cv ex FPO 154 (IRAQ) to HAIFA, addressed cryptically "To Dr.(?) A. and Sh." at 10 Jerusalem St., w/o r/a - probably bec. that apt. served as local branch & secret meeting place of Etzel (owner was Jabotinsky's cousin). Of note, Etzel cdr. David Raziel + few others were sent to Iraq, May 1941, to help quell pro-Nazi revolt; in general several units from Palestine incl. TJFF served in Iraq during & after 1941 Anglo-Iraq War. Passed Br. censor in Iraq; slit open at bottom.
