1840/1970 - A - Z High Value Commonwealth Collection in 3 64 Page Stockbooks
Fine unmounted, mounted and used, with strength in collection being the postal history of the Independence period. Hundreds and hundreds of covers in albums and exhibition pages, covering from Independence to Zimbabwe. Noted, many forces mail, scarce postmarks on covers, envelopes addressed to Ian Smith, boxed cachets, postage dues, illegal usage of stamps, well written up in places. Also included stamps in multiples and varieties, cinderellas and a collection of forgeries - Binda including “errors” and the Cape Town forgery of the Churchill 5/- overprint. Of interest is the 1970 Artist's Essay of the $1 definitive issue on thin board in water colours in a slightly deeper shade then the final issue, signed by the artist R.M.R. Martin. 2 Boxes contain Rhodesian Postmarks on Registered and Standard mail, as well as Post offices Index and Postmarks on covers. Also included a box with collections of the Official 1980 Olympic Stamps Plate Block Collection in Pre-Printed Album, FDC's. 2 Albums of Golden 22kt Gold of the United States Stamp Replicas, 4 FDC Albums and a box of mainly Rhodesia Postal Literature.
