Attica, Athens. Silver Tetradrachm (17.1 g), ca. 465/2-454 BC. Transitional Issue. Helmeted head of Athena right. Reverse AΘE, owl standing right, head facing, three distinct taial feathers; olive-spray with berry and crescent above. Starr Group V.A, 158-72 (uncertain dies); Seltman group N; Svoronos pl. 10, 1-15; SNG Copenhagen -. Issued around the same time as the famous dekadrachm issues, note the straight hair on the forehead, the dekadrachms are wavy. Fantastic dekadrachm style. Extremely Fine.

Judea. Bar Kochba Revolt, AD 132-135. Silver Sela / Tetradrachm (13.16 g.). Hybrid of Year 1 and Year 2, struck AD 133/4. Facade of Temple, Ark within; Hebrew inscription around ("Jerusalem"). Reverse: Lulav with etrog to left; Hebrew inscription around ("Year 2 of the freedom of Israel"). Hendin 686; Mildenberg 7. This an early emission, since the die break referenced by Mildenberg as starting with example 3 not apparent here. An overall bold strike with some minor areas of posority, but metal quality quite good including residual luster. Very rare; only 8 examples cited by Mildenberg. Extremely Fine.
