Die Bank wurde 1950 in Tegucigalpa gegründet, um Gelder für die Entwicklung der Acker- und Weidewirtschaft in Honduras bereitzustellen. In 1950, the bank was founded in Tegucigalpa to provide funds for the development of arable and pastoral agriculture in Honduras. The bank still exists, but was renamed as Banadesa in 1980.
