1863. PCGS graded MS-65. CAC Approved. An original example of the thick copper-nickel cent (72 grains weight, versus 48 grains for the later bronze cents). There is more than a nuance of pale champagne and brown toning on both sides. Struck from typical dies that imported a mostly sharp but occasionally rounded texture. Pop 227; 50 finer, 7 in 65+, 41 in 66, 2 in 66+. (PCGS # 2067) .
