Pre-Long Beach Auction #84

1836 N-6 R6+ (as a die state) Gobrecht Head F12. Glossy medium brown blending to light chocolate on the highpoints. No roughness or verdigris. Both sides display numerous tiny contact marks, the only notable ones being a few small nicks in the field before the chin. Extremely rare EDS with a perfect obverse, before the usually seen cud break over star 7. Slightly more than a dozen are known without the cud, and this piece is among the top 6 in the condition census.
