That was a series of sporting events that took place in Athens in the years: 1859, 1870, 1875 and 1888-1889 and was the first substantial attempt in modern history to revive the Olympic Games. Head of King George I on obverse. Inscription "ΑΓΩΝΟΘΕΤΗΣ ΕΥΑΓΓΕΛΗΣ ΖΑΠΠΑΣ / ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑ ΑΘΗΝΗΣΙ ΑΩΟ." within wreath on reverse. Engraved by Barre. Diameter: 41mm. Weight: 29,9gr. Plugged hole (probably used as a jewellery).(Chase# 636). About Uncirculated.
