Official letter of the central committee of Agudat Yisrael of Czernowitz. The 18th of Iyar 1938. To Rabbi Avraham Moshe Babad. Signed by Rabbi Mordechai Friedman (the Rebbe of Sadigura?) and an additional person. Content: the Shemitah fund, whose role is to enable the observation of the Shemitah by the haredi workers in the Land of Israel. A fascinating, important letter. Stencil on thin paper.

A certificate in a foreign language in which Rabbi Menachem Mendel Babad ordain his son Rabbi Avraham Moshe Babad and confirms that he had studied with him. With stamps and signatures [1918?]/ a leaf written on both its sides.

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Babad (1862-1930) Av Beit Din of Gura Humora since 1890. The grandson of Rabbi Yosef Babad, author of "Minchat Chinuch", one of the leading rabbis of Bucovina.

His Hassid son Rabbi Avraham Moshe Babad (1900-1980)a Torah and Kabbalah genius. Replaced his father as the rabbi of Gura Humora and after the Holocaust, a rabbi in Tel Aviv. The brother-in-law of the Rebbe, the "Makor Baruch" of Siret-Vizhnitz and the founder of the "Yachel Yisrael" Yeshiva of Haifa.

Condition: Fair-Good. Wear and tear, stains.

א. מכתב רשמי של הועד המרכזי של אגודת ישראל בצ'רנוביץ. ח"י אייר תרצ"ז. אל רבי אברהם משה באב"ד. חתום: רבי מרדכי פריעדמאן (האדמו"ר מסדיגורא) ואדם נוסף. תוכן: קרן השמיטה, שתפקידה לאפשר את קיום מצות השמיטה להפועלים החרדים היושבים על אדמת הקודש. מכתב מרתק וחשוב, מודפס בסטנסיל על נייר דק.

ב. גלויה שנשלחה בערב ראש השנה תרפ"ב, אל רבי מנחם מנדל באב"ד, מאת רבי יעקב [שלופר?] וכותב נוסף. [כתוב ברומנית?].

ג. גלויה שנשלחה מקפריסין [1947?] מאת הרב שיינפלד-הגר, אל דודו רבי אברהם משה באב"ד. [אנגלית].

ד. גלויה שנשלחה ב-1948 אל רבי מנחם מנדל באב"ד. [רומנית?].

ה. מסמך עתיק, משנת 1919, עם חתימה של הצנזורה. נראה תוכן חשוב.

ו. מכתב בעפרון, ביידיש, תוכן מעניין. שנות הארבעים.

ז. תעודה בלועזית בה מסמיך רבי מנחם מנדל באב"ד את בנו רבי אברהם משה באב"ד, ומאשר שלמד אצלו. עם בולים, חתימות וחותמות. [1918?]. דף כתוב משני צידיו.

ח. תעודה ברומנית, מודפסת במכונת כתיבה, עם חתימה וחותמת [שנות הארבעים].

ט. תעודה גדולה (שלושה עמודים), ברומנית, בעניין בני משפחת באב"ד [1918?]. חתימות וחותמות. קרעים וכתמים בולטים.

רבי מנחם מנדל באב"ד (תרכ"ב-תר"צ), אב"ד גורה הומורה, משנת תר"נ. נכדו של רבי יוסף באב"ד בעל "מנחת חינוך", מגדולי הרבנים בבוקובינה, שימש במשך כ-40 שנה.

בנו החסיד רבי אברהם משה באב"ד (תר"ס-תש"מ). גאון מופלג בנגלה ובנסתר. ממלא מקום אביו ברבנות גורה הומורה ולאחר השואה רב בתל אביב-יפו. גיסו של האדמו"ר ה"מקור ברוך" מסרט וויזניץ ומייסד ישיבת "יחל ישראל" בחיפה.

מצב בינוני-טוב. בלאי, קרעים וכתמים.
