lot # 898 - numismatic means of payment
Un Zionist Jewish vouchers. With establishment of the State of Israel printing unofficial banknotes was outlawed, however it was acceptable to print "means of payment". Which were mainly used in grocery stores in Jerusalem and in Kibbutzim for distribution of products such as sugar, bread and ice.
Neturei Karta, who wished to boycott "Zionist" money, used this exception in the law to print this card, that was used as money in the community and was equivalent to 1 Lira (and was not at all used for sugar distribution!). 6x7 cm.
