Lithographed in the Colony: Fourth Issue 1856 (Oct): Lithographed (1 d.) slate blue on thinner paper, Fourth Issue, a used example with ample to large margins all round with portion of adjoining stamp at right, used on 15 November 1858 second page of entire letter from Cuidad Bolivar, Venezuela to New York, tied by "1" numeral obliterator in black with "♚ / PAID / AT / TRINIDAD" alongside in red with '4' pence credit in red manuscript alongside. Reverse with small double arc 'Trinidad' and small single ring (1 / Nov 25) despatch cds in black and "St. Thomas" transit cds (Nov 30). 'New Orleans / La.' transit (Dec 30) and 'Steamship / 10' charge mark of arrival in black. File fold away from adhesive, an exceptional and rare cover. Cert. BPA (2020).
