Stampless envelope written from 'Point de Galle a Caylon' dated '29th Mai 1863' addressed to France cancelled by 'Galle/Unpaid' date stamp 'Mai 29', endorsed 'via Marseille' with French entry cachet 'Poss. Ang. V. Suez A Marseille' in red on face '24th Juin' and charged with hand-struck '9' on arrival with Paris receiver '25/6' on reverse. Unpaid mail from Galle is scarce. Very fine.
