Recess by Perkins Bacon 1854/57: Perkins Bacon (1 d.) rose-red on white paper, a used example with ample to large margins all round, used on cover to Bermuda (Hicks correspondence), lightly tied in black with fine "♚ / PAID / AT / TRINIDAD" in red at left and manuscript '4' pence prepaid credit alongside. Reverse with 'Trinidad' double arc cds and single ring cds (1 / April 26) in black and small 'St. Thomas' transit (May 1). Closed tear to envelope at top but a generally fine and most attractive cover. Cert. BPA (2020).
