First Issue, overprinted in lower case 1885/87: Cape 4 d. dull blue, wmk. Crown CC, overprinted "British / Bechuanaland" in black, an unused horizontal strip of twelve from the top of the sheet, with current number "3" in top left margin, and Plate number "1" above the right hand pane, imperfections including split between positions 4 and 5 and some tone spots, but of great rarity as a multiple with just two such known, and the 'proving piece' for H.R. Holmes in the discovery of the Setting of the Overprint being in one forme of 120 Gi = £ 1'100+.rnProvenance: Collection Emil Tamsen; Collection J.H.
