Typographed from electrotypes by Samuel Calvert 1857 (Aug-Sept): 1 d. yellow-green, rouletted 7-9 by counter clerks at the G.P.O. Melbourne, a used horizontal pair, marginal from top of sheet, cancelled by barred numeral "1" of Melbourne in black. An unusual and scarce marginal multiple from this brief experiment. "The Stamps of Victoria" by Geoff Kellow RDP, page 114, states that "the only multiples known are used pairs", in which case this must be considered the ultimate multiple Gi = £ 220+.rnrnProvenance: Collection Les Molnar, Prestige, Melbourne, 29 June 2012, lot 204.
