1885: De La Rue Essay for proposed 5 piastres Revenue value, hand-painted in horizontal format in pale lilac and violet on thin brown tracing paper, with arabic inscriptions, GOUVERNEMENT EGYPTIEN  and CINQ PIASTRES all picked out in Chinese white. Numbered '7' in red at lower right and dated "Dec.18.85" at top right. Minor creasing not greatly affecting the delightful appearance of this unique Essay.
