30 reis black, Early Impression, a superb large margined horizontal pair used on reverse of April 1844 cover to Vitoria, cancelled by complete strike of straight line S. MATHEUZ handstamp (Ayres fig. 1175) in black. A wonderful and rare cover-just two are known from S. Matheuz, both from the same correspondence (the other being ex-Koester). Slight imperfections to the outer letter sheet of no significance. Illustrated in Juchert "Bull's Eyes on Covers" on page 264. An extremely rare cover. Cert. Moorhouse (2013).
