1821 (Dec 22 and Dec 31): Entire letters (2) with the first entire to James Finnie in Lisbon endorsed "p. Piedade", the second entire being the duplicate letter (sent for safety) and mailed on 31 December, endorsed "p. Correio", each struck with fair only "Ro.DEJANRo" handstamps in brown (P-RJ-34) and each rated "80" reis due to pay in red manuscript. The earliest cover with docketing of receipt (9 March 1822) and the second received on 14 March 1822. A remarkable and unusual pair that open well for Exhibit display.
