Recess by H. C. Gillet 1854 (April): 5 c. Burnt Sienna, wmk 2, a horizontal strip of four, touched in two places at top and right respectively, otherwise good to huge margins with parts of two neighbouring stamps and sheet margin at base, used on 1855 cover to Santiago, tied by light strikes of a black "target" handstamp with "TALCA" despatch cds (May 18) below. Underpaid by 10 Centavos and thus charged "20" in manuscript, confirmed by circular red handstamp on arival. A very rare multiple on an attractive cover. Cert. BPA (1992).
